What acoustic flooring solutions are available?
There are two types of floating floors, made of either concrete or timber. A floating floor is not glued or nailed to the subfloor (the building’s foundation or structure flooring), and the surface finish panels are attached together instead to keep them in place. Both materials create airspace which is then filled with materials such as coiled springs, neoprene or fiberglass pads to boost noise reduction. Some structures will not be able to support the weight of concrete floating floors and in these instances, timber floating flooring is used.

What else should I know about acoustic flooring solutions?
Acoustic flooring solutions are used in a range of buildings and construction projects. They are particularly effective in high traffic areas with several floors such as hospitals, schools, offices, hotels and retirement/care homes. They are effective in reducing noise up to 19dB (decibels), ensuring the highest quality soundproofing capabilities at a cost-effective price. In addition, acoustic flooring solutions can also deliver effective shock absorbing capabilities, making them extremely comfortable to walk on.
